Men's Health Week

Men’s Health Week is an opportunity to encourage men to take positive steps for their physical and mental wellbeing. It promotes honest conversations, healthier everyday choices and seeking support early when something does not feel right.

Wellbeing Tips

Talk about how you are feeling. Sharing concerns with someone you trust can help prevent problems from becoming overwhelming.

Keep active. Regular movement can support physical health, mood, sleep and energy levels.

Make time for health checks. Attend routine appointments and speak to a healthcare professional about persistent symptoms or changes.

Pay attention to stress. Notice signs such as irritability, poor sleep, difficulty concentrating or withdrawing from others.

Build healthy routines. Balanced meals, sufficient sleep, regular breaks and limiting alcohol can support overall wellbeing.

Seek help early. Asking for support is a positive step. You do not have to wait until things reach crisis point.

Ideas for Managers

Create opportunities for informal and confidential wellbeing conversations.

Avoid assumptions about how men should express stress, illness or emotion.

Encourage staff to attend appointments and use available health services.

Promote appropriate breaks, manageable workloads and time away from work.

Share details of occupational health, employee assistance and mental health support.

Follow up sensitively if someone’s behaviour, attendance or performance changes.

Simple Team Idea

Organise a voluntary Small Steps Challenge and invite colleagues to choose one manageable action for the week—such as taking a daily walk, drinking more water, booking an overdue health appointment or checking in with a friend. Encourage participation without competition or pressure.
