World Porridge Day

World Porridge Day is a day dedicated to celebrating the nutritional benefits of porridge while raising awareness and funds for the charity Mary's Meals, which provides life-changing meals to impoverished children across the globe. The day highlights the simple yet powerful impact of a daily meal for children in need.

Things a Manager Can Do to Promote This Day At Work:

Porridge Breakfast Bar: Set up a porridge breakfast bar in the break room or a communal area. Provide different types of porridge (e.g., oats, quinoa, rice) and a variety of toppings such as fruits, nuts, honey, and seeds. Encourage staff to start their day with a healthy, nutritious bowl of porridge.

Porridge Recipe Contest: Organise a porridge recipe contest where staff can submit their favourite or most creative porridge recipes. Compile the recipes into a digital booklet and share it with the team. Offer a small prize for the best recipe, judged by a panel or by popular vote.

Charity Fundraiser: Promote the charitable aspect of World Porridge Day by organising a fundraiser for Mary's Meals. This could be a donation box at the porridge bar, a bake sale with porridge-based treats, or a sponsored "porridge challenge" where staff are sponsored to eat porridge for every meal that day.
